George Mennon Campbell, Jr.

  • I was born and raised in Monroe, LA.
  • I graduated from Neville High School, ULM and obtained my law degree from Mississippi College School of Law.
  • I married my wife, Abby Campbell, in 2010 and we live in Monroe with our two children, ages 5 and 3.
  • I began working at the District Attorney’s office in 2010 as an assistant district attorney under Jerry Jones. While an ADA I handled thousands of cases and tried over a hundred criminal cases.
  • In 2014, I started my private practice but in 2016 Campbell & House was formed and we currently still practice together. I handle all the criminal litigation and Wade House handles all of the civil litigation.
  • I have spent my whole legal career practicing criminal law in both state and federal court.
  • Earlier this year I decided to run for District Attorney and once in office, I have a long list of changes. Most of these changes will address the backlog of violent offenders awaiting trial and the lack of communication between the DA and the citizens of Morehouse and Ouachita parishes.  My plan is to go to all of our schools and speak to our children about staying out of trouble and the potential effects of a childish prank gone wrong. My hope is that we can be proactive in our fight against crime.
  • I also plan to use my relationships with our citizens and law enforcement to catch top-tier gun and drug traffickers and work with law enforcement to prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.
  • After I take office, I will make sure that the office of District Attorney will serve all our citizens and not just the chosen few.  Interestingly enough, this will be the first election for District Attorney in nearly 30 years.
